Our commitment
Calculator Matters (calculatormatters.com) is committed to making its calculators, tables, charts, and articles usable by the widest possible audience, including people who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and keyboard-only navigation.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as a practical target. Accessibility is an ongoing effort rather than a one-time achievement, and we treat it as part of building each calculator.
What we do
- Use semantic HTML so headings, lists, tables, and form fields are announced correctly by assistive technology.
- Label every calculator input and pair it with helper text so its purpose is clear.
- Support full keyboard navigation, including a visible focus outline on interactive elements.
- Maintain readable colour contrast for text and important interface elements.
- Build mobile-first, responsive layouts that reflow cleanly and allow text to be zoomed without breaking.
- Avoid conveying meaning through colour alone, and provide text alternatives where relevant.
- Allow data tables to scroll horizontally on small screens so content is never cut off.
Known limitations
Some content is provided by third parties — for example, advertising served through ad networks. We do not control the markup or behaviour of third-party content, so it may not always meet the same accessibility standards as the rest of the site. We also recognise that complex charts are visual by nature; where a chart appears, the same figures are available as result cards or a data table.
Ongoing improvement
We review accessibility as we add and update calculators, and we welcome reports of specific problems so we can prioritise fixes. If you encounter a barrier, telling us the page, your device or browser, and the assistive technology you use helps us reproduce and resolve the issue quickly.
Give us feedback
If any part of Calculator Matters is difficult to use, please reach out through our contact page. We take accessibility feedback seriously and will do our best to respond and improve.
