How to report copyright infringement on Calculator Matters, and how we handle takedown notices and counter-notices.

The original calculators, formulas as presented, articles, examples, and design on Calculator Matters (calculatormatters.com) are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Please do not copy or republish substantial portions without permission. Brief quotation with clear attribution and a link back is generally welcome.

Respecting the rights of others

We respect the intellectual property of others and expect our users to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws.

Filing a copyright (DMCA) notice

If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, please send a written notice through our contact page that includes all of the following:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • The exact URL(s) on Calculator Matters where the material is located.
  • Your name and contact information (so we can reach you).
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next

When we receive a valid notice, we will review it and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material in a timely manner, and make a reasonable effort to notify the person who posted it.

Counter-notice

If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice through our contact page including: identification of the removed material and its former location, your contact information, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake, and your signature. We may restore the material as permitted by law.

Repeat infringers

We may, in appropriate circumstances, restrict or remove content from users who are repeat infringers.
